December 2020 – End Of Term Arrangements & Contact Tracing
Back to article list

11th December 2020

I can confirm that school will remain open, as planned, until Friday 18th December.

You may have read in the media (or on social media) that some schools are closing early next week. We will remain open until Friday 18th December and children will leave school at their normal finish time.

The Department for Education has asked that schools continue contact tracing for six days after the end of term. To help us do this could I please ask parents to email hollinsgrundy@bury.gov.uk if your child receives a positive test result between the 19th and 24th December, but only if their symptoms developed within 48 hours of being in school.

This means that if symptoms develop between 3.30pm on Friday 18th December and 3.30pm on Sunday 20th December, and your child receives a positive test result, then parents should email school. If symptoms develop after 3.30pm on Sunday 20th (even if they result in a positive test result) school should not be contacted.

If we receive any notifications of positive test results and your child is a close contact then you will be informed by text and a letter sent by email informing you of isolation requirements.

If your child receives a positive test result that will prevent them returning to school on Wednesday 6th January 2021 due to isolation requirements please email hollinsgrundy@bury.gov.uk by the 5th January 2021.

If you are travelling abroad over the holidays to a country that will require your child to quarantine on their return please let us know also.

Thank you
