3rd December 2021

As you will be aware the new Covid-19 Omicron variant is far more transmissible than other variants. Accordingly we will be making some adjustments to our arrangements for end of term Christmas events in order to protect members of the school community from infection. These adjustments are intended to balance the need to keep everyone, including wider family members, safe from infection and to reduce the impact on school, particularly to avoid the risk of class closures.

The nativity performances next week will go ahead as planned. The performance for each class will be on a separate day and only two family members per child will be allowed to attend. This includes toddlers and babies etc. If adults arrive on the wrong day or additional people arrive they will not be admitted. Adult audience members will be required to wear a face covering and are requested to take a lateral flow test before coming to school. We also hope to be able to post a video of the performance on the school website.

Class Christmas parties will go ahead as planned as they involve no additional mixing. Children should come to school in their party clothes on the appropriate day. Infants (YR, Y1 & Y2) party takes place on Monday 13th December, juniors (Y3, Y4, Y5 & Y6) on Friday 10th December.

Currently, the trip to Bolton Octagon Theatre to see Peter Pan on Wednesday 15th December will go ahead as planned. We will be guided by the theatre about any additional Omicron adjustments required by them.

The junior carol services planned for Thursday 16th and Friday 17th will not now take place with a live audience. The numbers of additional people in the hall would be too much of a risk. We will video the service and post the film on our school website.

Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
