October 2020 – Fund-raising events – Update
Back to article list

2nd October 2020

So far we have raised £231.23 – Thank you to everyone who has donated!

As you will be aware we have a very active and supportive PTA in school who do wonderful work to raise funds for the school and arrange social events for children and families. We also regularly raise money for charities and other good causes throughout the year with a variety of activities.

Unfortunately due to Covid-19 restrictions we cannot have social events such as fairs or discos and we cannot allow children to bring cakes, other donations or even cash into school because of the risk that this poses around the spread of infection.

Events such as non-uniform days will be possible however as they don’t involve people congregating and mixing and don’t require any additional “stuff” to be brought into school. We have therefore planned to hold two of these events before the end of this half term.

The first will be held on Friday 9th October and will be a day to raise money for a local mental health awareness project. Children should wear yellow in some way or another (either a lot or a little) and we ask that donations of at least £1 be made here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/matthew-young-2020?utm_id=107&utm_term=rkxYGeV9R

The second will be a Halloween themed non-uniform day on the last day of the half-term – Friday 23rd October – and funds raised will be for our own PTA who will purchase something to benefit the whole of the school. We’ll let you know nearer the time how to donate. On this day children can wear any kind of Halloween themed outfit, but please don’t send them in with additional items such as plastic pumpkins, tridents, masks etc.
