Back to article list

7th January 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,

We would like to share some important news with you. At the end of this academic year, our Head Teacher, Mr Waddington, will be retiring after many years of dedicated service to Hollins Grundy Primary School.

Throughout his time here, Mr Waddington has worked tirelessly to create a nurturing, inspiring and supportive environment for all our children. His leadership has helped shape the school into the vibrant community we are so proud of today. On behalf of the Governing Body, staff and pupils, we extend our heartfelt thanks for his commitment, passion, and care over the years.

While this marks the end of an era, please be assured that the Governing Body will work to appoint a successor who will continue to uphold the values and standards that make Hollins Grundy Primary School such a special place.

In the meantime, we hope you will join us in celebrating Mr Waddington’s incredible contribution to our school and in wishing him a happy and fulfilling retirement when he leaves us in July.

Thank you for your continued support.

Warm regards,
Darren Thomas-Stanley
Chair of Governors
Hollins Grundy Primary School
