As you will be aware the NEU teaching union is engaging in strike action which will affect schools on four days during this term. The first day is next Wednesday, 1st February.

Following discussion with the governing board and having taken account of guidance from the Department for Education and Bury Local Authority I can inform you that Hollins Grundy will be partially open on that day and that some classes will be closed.

Year 2, Year 4 and Year 6 will be open for children as usual on the 1st February and children in those classes should attend at the usual time.

Reception class, Year 1, Year 3 and Year 5 will be closed and children should not attend school on that day.

Owls Club will be open as usual for the children in Year 2 Year 4 and Year 6 who require places.

I understand that this will be disruptive for some families but the planning process has enabled the disruption to be kept at the minimum level possible.

Information about arrangements for future strike days will be given nearer the time.
