November 2022 – Attendance Data
Back to article list

7th November 2022

Before half term we sent home your child’s attendance data for the first 7 weeks of this year. Thank you for reading this and placing such a high priority on your children’s attendance.  Good school attendance is one of the most significant factors that can impact on children’s academic achievement.

We are currently in the process of reviewing our attendance policy in line with national and Bury LA guidance.

In order to help  you judge your child’s attendance accurately here are some of the thresholds which will be used in the new policy:

Good Attendance: 98 – 100%          (0 – 4 days missed across the full school year)

At Risk Of Poor Attendance: 95 – 97.9% (5 – 9 days missed across the full school year)

Poor Attendance: 90.1 – 94.9%     (10 – 19 days missed across the full school year)

Persistently Absent: 90% or below (20 + days missed across the full school year)

We understand that in the early part of the school year i.e. the autumn term, a day’s absence has a higher impact on a child’s attendance.
