Following the Prime Minister’s announcement earlier this week our school will be opening for all children on Monday 8th March.
Thank you so much to the whole of our school community, school staff, children, parents who have put a huge amount of effort into the remote and face to face teaching that has been taking place since schools were forced to close to most children in January. Well over 90% of children in every class have been engaging every day in the live lessons and completing and submitting the tasks.
From the 8th March we will be returning to the system we were operating during the autumn term i.e. keeping year group bubbles separate with separate start times, & finish times, routes in and out of the building etc. Our previously used start and finish times will apply (see chart below).
|Year Group||Start Time||Finish Time||Entrance/Exit Gate|
|Year 1||8.55am||3.30pm||Infant Gate|
|Year 2||8.45am||3.20pm||Middle Gate|
|Year 3||8.55am||3.30pm||Middle Gate|
|Year 4||8.55am||3.20pm||Bottom Gate|
|Year 5||8.45am||3.10pm||Bottom Gate|
|Year 6||9.05am||3.30pm||Bottom Gate|
Our systems for limiting the spread of infection in the building will still be in place such as bubbles, extra hand-washing, additional cleaning etc so I would urge families to continue to do their bit out of school too to ensure that we can keep school open. School staff are being tested twice weekly and will be wearing masks in shared areas but not in classrooms.
As previously, if a family member or close contact out of school tests positive or is waiting for a test result then children should isolate at home. If this is the case home learning work will be provided for them via Teams or SeeSaw. If children are found to be close contacts of a positive case in school or have a positive test themselves there is still the possibility that whole classes will be sent home to isolate. I hope that this doesn’t happen but please do let school know if you have positive cases in your family.
Our kitchens will be providing cooked meals for all those who want them from Monday 8th onwards. Please could payment be made online as previously. If anyone needs assistance with this please call Mrs Doherty on 0161 796 0476.
Additionally Owls before and after school club will be operating once again, with 3 separate groups of children.
We are receiving guidance from the Department for Education and from Bury LA very frequently at the moment. Whilst we have a clear plan going forward as described above, it is important to note that if circumstances require it we may have to change our plans at short notice.
Once again, thanks to everyone who has done such tremendous work during the past few weeks.
